By 2022, all Member States of the European Union will have fulfilled the tasks currently set in the area of e-Government and digital transformation. However, we must not allow different speeds in digital Europe. We must not allow "digital Schengen". This is what the Chairperson of the State e-Government Agency (S.E.G.A.) Rossen Jeliazkov stated at the first Digital Unconference Sofia 1.0, which takes place in Sofia Tech Park.
Before the participants in the forum, the S.E.G.A. Chairperson highlighted the key role of public institutions to be proactive and anticipate technological challenges. "After several years, the principles “once only”, cross-border, digital-by-default, will be introduced to such an extent that we will no longer talk about them. The question, however, is that the implementation of these principles, shared by all EU Member States, not to lead to a digital division” Rossen Jeliazkov warned.
"When we meet the technological challenges, we must not forget the main – it is the focus on the consumer. This principle is the most important starting point and goal to be pursued. Everything else we may forget, but not the way the consumer looks at the processes”, Rossen Jeliazkov stressed at the inaugural session of the forum, organized by the Digital National Coalition and the Future Solutions Foundation.
The President (2012-2017) Rossen Plevneliev and the Minister of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU Lilyana Pavlova were Among the participants in the Unconference.
