E-Government Polices Directorate shall provide support to the Chairperson of Electronic Governance State Agency in elaborating and implementing the overall state policy in the field of electronic governance.

The underlying functions of the directorate shall be related to providing coordination and monitoring on strategic and program documents regarding the development of the electronic government in the Republic of Bulgaria. It shall monitor the compliance of approved policies and programs and shall provide recommendations and opinions in approving documents, pursuant to the Electronic Governance Act.

The directorate shall provide methodological assistance in the field of electronic government and support the coordination among the administration on a central, regional and local level. It shall assure compliance of the overall electronic government policy with the current recommendations and worldwide trends of development, including applying approved tools for analysis and evaluation. The directorate shall support the operation of the Electronic Governance Council.

E-Government Policies Directorate comprises three departments: Analyses Department; Policies and Methods Department and Budget Control Department.
